1988 Topps #327 Bo Jackson
Last night I was taking my 20 month old son out of our car. I start pointing at the Bo Jackson pennant (Royals) I have in the garage. I have had this pennant up since the summer, this evening was the first time he has noticed it. I said it's Bo Jackson and he kept repeating his name over and over again. Why is this story interesting. Well I was about to go inside and place a bet on Oregon in last nights Championship game. I am getting a bit tired of the SEC's dominance, and I really thought Oregon was about to chance that. But I saw this as a sign and decide to stay away from the Action. The game itself was entertaining. The score was a lot closer than it should have been though. Chip Kelly definitely played all his cards last night and still lost. So Congrats Auburn Tigers, here is Bo Jackson, you last Heisman Trophy winner, prior to 2010 that is.
Facts about Bo Jackson
• Vincent Edward "Bo" Jackson born in Bessemer, Alabama on November 30, 1962
• First pick in the in 1986 Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
• Refused to play for T-Bay instead played baseball with the Kansas City Royals.
• Since he did not sign with a team by the 1987 draft, his rights were forfeited by Tampa Bay and his name was thrown back into the draft. The Los Angeles Raiders selected Jackson in the 7th round with the 183rd overall pick.
